MathAdore : a Dutch interactive mathematical method for high schools

MathAdore is a web based mathematics method for Dutch high schools, which is currently being developed jointly with a team of high school teachers in the Netherlands. The project's aim is to produce a new generation of high quality teaching material incorporating various forms of interactivity. In MathAdore, the mathematics is encoded in OpenMath, wheras backengines, such as Mathematica, handle the mathematical computations. The Mathdox player, developed at TU/e, renders the XML based MathAdore documents. The Mathdox player is a software package using, among others, JsMath, Jelly, Javascript, various XML techniques and Orbeon. The presentation will show the set-up of MathAdore, and, in particular, the interactive examples and exercises. The MathAdore method, with its focus on interactivity, will provide students and teachers with a rich learning environment.
