Semester 4 Activities RWTH
Apart from the activities given in the workpackage below, the following work was also relevant to the project:
Design of a "Paste from LaTeX" plugin for ILIAS Open Source Math Editor. It allows to paste LaTeX code into the ILIAS editor and takes care of special characters that are not allowed in the ILIAS Math Editor and converts the characters into appropriate sequences. Furthermore, ILIAS Open Source Math Editor plugins have been rewritten in order to support the new version of WYSIWYG TinyMCE 3.0.
Complete redesign of the EMILeA-stat learning environment towards standard compliant XHTML+CSS output. Development of a completely frameless layout for better search engine compatibility and integration of a complete set of web 2.0 components to enhance the usability of the learning management system (result preview in search, context menus in content presentation, background loading of content and components etc.)
Creation of new Java Applets for the EMILeA-stat learning environment:
- Distribution generator applet that allows to display random distributions created with different algorithms in histograms and bar charts
- Gambling simulator applet that creates the progress chart of gambling for given probabilities
