Case Studies in Learning Objects Repositories

Universities and other educational institutions are creating innovative repository-based systems for supporting the creation, use, re-use, and management of digital content. A learning object repository is a kind of digital library that enables educators to share, manage and reuse educational resources. Repositories rely on metadata standards. On the other hand, content based courses are no longer enough to describe the learning process, and it is necessary to include formal descriptions of learning processes and scenarios following learning standards.

This section is devoted to collecting case studies for math learning object repositories using metadata and learning standards. Case studies should point out the design, implementation and use of the repository. Reusability, openness, usability and accessibility are also aspects to be discussed, as well as other challenges faced by user communities of both open and non-open repositories of learning objects and resources.
