Semantic Physics Markup and its context to mathematical content description

The main field of application and outreach of semantic mathematical tools and services will be physics and adjacent fields, where scientific content is cast in mathematical form. The obstacles and the ways to overcome them are described: - development of a Physics Markup Language, in which to embed the encoding of the algebraic properties of physical , observables; This is persued in cooperation with the Jacobs University Bremen Group using OMDOC which allows to encode the PhysML parts which are not mathematics, into the Open Math Concept. - call for the encoding in content-MathML for specific subareas, needed in physics (in contrast to the 'class 12'-mathML), such as integral equations, exterior calculus, Hilbert-space, coupled differential equations, affine geometry, 4-space metrics calculus, in order to cover just the main fields of Physics, Mechanics, Quantum mechanics, Thermodynamics, Gravitation, Electromagnetic theory. - specification of the STEX-language package to include the above additions in a way that ordinary LaTeX-users can make use of PhysML/OMDOC as a usepackage. - Embedding of the new services into existing Physics eLearning Services such as PhysMM physik-multimedial; LiLi-harvesting; Physics Networks PhysNet in a way that users of these may spot the new tools, services and find tutorials to learn and make use of them. - outreach and marketing of the new services in the Physics community with best practices examples; feedback to the developers of PhysML, OMDOC, STEX, MathML for the most urgent needs of this community.
