A one-day seminar on e-assessment in Mathematics for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Educators
This seminar is being organized by the e-Assessment Association in conjunction with the Department of Mathematics at
Swansea University in order to highlight the benefits of e-assessment in Mathematics at all levels of education. The
seminar is being sponsored by BTL and SCHOLAR. The invited speakers will explore issues in the development and
use of: an adaptive approach, the inclusion of multi-media, the role of a stepped approach and the testing of higherorder
skills. This event is part of a series of seminars being held across the UK under the auspices of the e-
Assessment Association. This present seminar will discuss the main features in the relevant sector led by a well-known
exponent in the field and gather informed views through discussion under the guidance of experienced facilitators. The
embryonic e-Assessment Association has three major goals for its community: to provide professional support for
workers in this field of expertise, to work collaboratively with members and national organisations to create and
communicate the positive contribution that technologies can make to assessment methods and produce a statement of
good practice for commercial vendors of e-assessment. This present event will conclude by establishing a special
interest group for eAA in Wales.
