Overview

This is the first JEM Workshop at the Jacobs University Bremen on identifying and supporting (scientific) communities in education and research.

The workshop will take place on Thursday, August 30th 2007 on campus of the Jacobs university.

Papers (position papers, research proposals ect.) on the theoretic aspects of identifying, analyzing, and supporting scientific communities in and research well as demonstrations of respective systems, prototypes, and mock ups are welcome!

Questions to be addressed:

  • What are scientific/ educational communities?
  • How can communities be identified?
  • What are benefits of scientific/ educational communities? Why do we need them?
  • How and what for can we use communities?
  • Can communities be formalized and modeled? How?
  • How can different communities be connected/ established?
