Joining Educational Mathematics - Final workshop - (JEM 2009)

The final meeting of the JEM Thematic Network is organized as a workshop during the Eight International Conference on Web-based Learning, ICWL 2009. This collocation aims to bring attention of the more general Web-based learning community to the issues involved in bringing mathematics teaching online.
This workshop aims to present to the wider audience the work and results of the partners of the Joining Educational Mathematics thematic network that has come to its conclusion after 3 years of activity. Partners of JEM are encouraged to present an overview of their work, with a special emphasis on how they have profited from cooperation within the network. The workshop is intended for a general audience interested in knowing what are the technologies and the methodologies that enhance teaching and learning of mathematics on the web.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- lessons learned in teaching mathematics online
- case studies of eLearning in mathematics
- best practices for educational use of ICT in mathematics
- technological foundation for new eLearning applications
- semantic technologies for eLearning
- management of eLearning content
- work-in-progress, software demos
Venue

As of today, you can find JEM resources, registered in our repository, also via the federated search from the Ariadne Foundation for the European Knowledge Pool. Ariadne is a European Association open to the World, for Knowledge Sharing and Reuse that was initiated in 1996 by the European Commission's telematics for education and training program. The core of the ARIADNE infrastructure is a distributed network of learning repositories, JEM being one of them. So, give it a try it at Ariadne Finder.

New public profile pages on JEM
JEM member pages have undergone a restyling which now allows to show the members' activities in the network's portal. The profile page is now public and it is up to the user to define which information should not appear to anonymous readers by un-checking the option below each field under "My Account". The profile pages now list the last 5 blog entries, publications and learning resources that have been published on JEM.
